Is Blanket Necessary in the Summer for Babies?
In many religions and cultures, using the blanket in the summer is customary. At the same time, some parents choose not to use any blankets in the summer, either due to the warm weather. During warmer nights, it is obvious to worry about the baby overheating because of the blanket, but experts advise the use of thick and lightweight double-layer baby blankets. Overheating for a baby could be fatal as it could result in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The bedding arrangement should always be appropriate to the season and temperature of the room in which the baby sleeps. Experts advise the use of cotton baby wrapper blanket as it enables airflow and thereby prevents overheating. For a baby, a room temperature of 18-20ºC is recommended. Depending on the heat of the baby, there might be differences in the amount of sweat he/she perspires.
